Man dies after being pulled from Lincoln Park lagoon, Chicago police and fire say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man died after being pulled from a lagoon in Lincoln Park, the Chicago Police Department said.

The incident occurred at the lagoon in the 2200-block of North Cannon Drive.

According to police, a 61-year-old man was on an inflatable raft and accidentally flipped over. The man was under water for an extended period of time before he was pulled from the water.

The Chicago Fire Department said the man was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

No further details have been released, including the man's identity.
