Black McDonald's Operators Association gives away school supply kits

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Typically you go to McDonald's for burgers, but Friday dozens of kids went there for school supplies.

School supply kits assembled earlier this week were packed inside brightly-colored backpacks and given away to children. They giveaway was organized by the Black McDonald's operators Association of Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

Friday's giveaway was at a McDonald's on Roosevelt Road in the city's North Lawndale neighborhood. Other giveaways are planned.
