CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago-area broadcasting legend was honored Monday night in the Loop, as ABC's Ann Compton was inducted into the Illinois Broadcasters Association's Hall of Fame.
ABC7 Eyewitness News anchor Ron Magers introduced Compton at the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

The recently retired ABC correspondent is from Chicago and attended New Trier High School in Winnetka.
In 1974, she became the first female network reporter assigned to cover the White House full-time.
