A spokesman for Casey Kasem's daughter says the ailing radio personality has been taken by ambulance to a hospital or medical facility in Washington state.

Danny Deraney told The Associated Press that Kerri Kasem accompanied her father when an ambulance took him Sunday afternoon to receive care. He didn't know where the 82-year-old entertainer went.

His condition isn't known, but Kerri Kasem said in court Friday that her father is suffering from bedsores and lung and bladder infections. She also has said her father has a form of dementia.

Amid an ongoing dispute between Kerri Kasem and her stepmother, Jean Kasem, a Kitsap County judge ruled Friday that Kerri Kasem could have a doctor of her choosing examine her father.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office has said appropriate medical care has been provided.

A message left for Jean Kasem's representative wasn't immediately returned.

Casey Kasem and his wife have been staying with friends west of Seattle.

The daughter of Casey Kasem left his side in tears just hours after a Washington judge granted her the right the visit him. The DJ who counted down the hits for decades is now 82, reportedly barely able to speak because of a debilitating condition. He was not in the courtroom Friday, where Jean Kasem, his wife of 34 years, and her stepdaughter Kerri Kasem continued their battle for the right to oversee his medical care.

"He now has a stage three bedsore, he has a lung infection and a bladder infection from what I believe is not being taken care of to the fullest extent," Kerri Kasem said.

The emotions - mostly contained in court - boiled over afterward.

"Shame on these children! Shame who have done this to their father and have

shredded my family!" Jean Kasem said.

Jean Kasem spoke publicly outside the home near Seattle where she says they have been staying on vacation, denying accusations by Kerri Kasem that she sneaked him away from his Los Angeles nursing home earlier this month, leading a California judge to grant Kasem's daughter temporary authority over his care. The judge in Washington has not yet ruled on that issue, but did grant the daughter visitation with a doctor of her choice.

"I'm very happy with the results of today's hearing," Kerri Kasem said Friday.
