Chicago area residents embark on ABC's 'Quest'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two people from the Chicago area are embarking on a quest to the world of ogres and dragons.

They're taking part in the new ABC fantasy competition show "Quest," which premieres Thursday night. A dozen people will take part in a series of battles until one true hero remains.

Chicago bartender Katie Smaluk told Eyewitness News how the show's producers gave her the adventure she's always wanted.

"I can play as many games as I want, I can read as many comic books as I need to but I will never get to live it the way that these guys created the world for us to live in," said Smaluk.

Patrick Higgins of Joliet will also be on the show. He describes himself as a Star Wars fanatic.
