DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES -- The first ever Hello Kitty Convention kicks off in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.

The event showcases all things Hello Kitty at the Museum of Contemporary Art through Nov. 2.

There will be exhibits, workshops, panels, tattoos, food and many more surprises for avid fans.

The convention celebrates Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary.

Tickets to the four-day convention are sold out.
