Police: Nails in Oak Lawn slides not vandalism

OAK LAWN, Ill. (WLS) -- Oak Lawn police said that exposed nails found on a playground slide last month were not an act of vandalism after all.

They believe they were the result of a possible design flaw or installation problem in the playground equipment.

They figured that out after finding the same problem again Monday on another piece of equipment.
