Four years ago two babies - a boy and a girl - were accidentally switched at birth at a hospital in South Africa and raised by the wrong mothers.

A new report just out says those children cannot be returned to their natural parents because they are too attached to their 'adopted' mothers.

A legal expert says that would mean the families cut legal ties with their biological children, although they would still have contact with them.

They would then legally adopt the children they have been raising.

One of the mothers who has been fighting for her biological child later acknowledged that it may not be in the youngster's best interest to move now.

This will continue to play out in court.
