CHICAGO (WLS) -- The United States Department of Agriculture is helping Chicago's farmers markets grow.

Nearly $90,000 will support the markets in the Pullman, Austin and Englewood communities.

The money supports access to healthy, locally-grown fruits and vegetables in areas known as "food deserts."

The city currently has 25 farmers markets and 15 of those accept Link cards.
