CHICAGO (WLS) -- You can help end the fight against ovarian cancer. The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition is hosting its 18th annual run/walk to break the silence on ovarian cancer on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015. The Chicago event is the largest of its kind in the nation. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend. This year, approximately 22,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Approximately 15,000 will die. Only 19 percent are diagnosed at an early stage. Liz Isham Cory, and Allison Sharpe with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition joined us on ABC 7 to talk about the upcoming fundraiser and getting tested for the disease.
