WCL surprises Palatine man diagnosed with rare bone cancer
Chris Timonen, 18, of Palatine was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.

Chris Timonen, 18, had just graduated high school in Palatine and enlisted in the Navy when he was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer.

After a year full of surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell replacement, Chris is finally cancer free and has started college to hopefully become a pediatric nurse.

Windy City Live partnered with The Nikolas Ritschel Foundation to surprise Chris and his family with a dream vacation to Los Angeles including air, hotel, visits to the beach and Hollywood.

Disney also awarded them tickets to Disneyland for all five of them as part of Disney's Summer of Service.

Country superstar Brett Eldredge also invited Chris backstage to hang with him for his upcoming Tinley Park performance on Sept. 16.
