CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago residents have died this year from the West Nile virus, the Chicago Department of Public Health reported.

One victim was a woman in her 80s, and the other a woman in her 70s. Health authorities said two other people with the virus have recovered.

Last year 11 people in Illinois died from West Nile.

The Chicago cases come as the first human cases of the virus have also been reported in McHenry County and northern Indiana.
