Glen Ellyn students hop, skip, jump towards world record

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (WLS) -- Students at a suburban school hope they're just a hop, skip and a jump away from a world record.

Five hundred and seventy-six students at Lincoln Elementary in Glen Ellyn were on the playground Wednesday playing hopscotch with the district superintendent. They're hoping to set a world record for the most people playing hopscotch at the same time. The current record is 359 students.

Video and documents are being sent to the people at Guinness to verify the record.
