1 dead, 1 wounded in Northwest Side shooting

CHICAGO -- Two people were shot, one fatally, while sitting in a vehicle in the 2800-block of North Kenneth, Chicago police said.

The victims, both men, were hit around 3:30 p.m. Monday on the city's Northwest Side. The 16-year-old was shot in the head and died, and a 49-year-old victim was shot in the back. He's in critical condition at Illinois Masonic Hospital.

Witnesses say the victims are father and son, but police have not confirmed their identities or relationship.

Officials have not released details on what led to the shooting, but say it is gang-related.
