Grandson dead, grandmother injured in Gresham shooting

A grandmother and her grandson were shot in the city's Gresham neighborhood.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person is dead and another wounded after a shooting in the city's Gresham neighborhood, police said. Father Michael Pfleger has identified the victims as a man and his grandmother.

The shooting occurred near 79th and Laflin around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Pfleger said the two were driving in a van at the time of the incident, and that the man was an attendee of St. Sabina Church. The man has been identified as Phillip Dupree. The grandmother, Michelle Cobb, is in good condition.

No other details have been released.
