Brazen burglary caught on video in Old Town

CHICAGO (WLS) -- ABC7 obtained exclusive surveillance video of a brazen burglary in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood.

The suspected robber seemed to pose as a delivery person holding a white box as he entered the building in the 1500-block of N. Orleans. He then discards the box, goes outside and ransacks an unlocked Jeep before hopping into a car and speeding off.

"They took all my power tools, three large bags of tools, an air compressor, a speaker box with my sub woofers in it. It was probably a little over $2,000," Donnie Schladt said.

Schladt said the burglars had been seen before on the block and may have been casing the building beforehand.
