The 'Bronzeville the Musical' tells the story of African Americans who journeyed to Chicago during the Great Migration.

The Mahdi Theatre Company presents Chicago's 'Bronzeville the Musical," which will be performed at the Chicago Theatre on Feb. 27.

Margaret Mahdi joins Windy City Live to talk about how she created an original and historical narrative about the heartfelt struggle of African Americans as they journeyed to Chicago during the Great Migration to seek better opportunities.

The theatre company makes history as the first-of-its kind theatre to secure an opportunity to produce a play at the famed and historic Chicago Theatre.

The show features vibrant choreography, soulful voices, and performances by Chicagoans and community actors.
