Mercy Home launches March for Kids campaign

The first St. Patrick's Day parade of the season is on March 5 in Forest Park.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The first St. Patrick's Day parade of the season is on March 5 in Forest Park.

And along with the floats and bands, you'll see volunteers for the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls collecting donations and raising awareness. The March for Kids campaign helps children removed from environments of poverty, violence, and abuse.

Volunteers collect donations and hand out Mercy Home Shamrocks. You can make donations to the Mercy Home at the following:

-Forest Park St. Patrick's Day Parade, Saturday, March 5

-Tinley Park St. Patrick's Day Parade, Sunday, March 6

-Locations throughout Downtown Chicago, Friday, March 11

-Chicago St. Patrick's Day Parade, Saturday, March 12

-South Side Irish Parade, Sunday, March 13

-Northwest Side Irish Parade, Sunday, March 13

-Select Chicago locations on St. Patrick's Day, March 17

Mercy home is also looking for volunteers for the March for Kids. You can go to http://www.mercyhome.org or call (312) 738-7552 to sign-up. The March doesn't end on the streets. Mercy Home is also urging the public to sign and share its online petition to end child abuse.
