Man arrested for VHS of 'Freddy Got Fingered' not returned in 2002

CONCORD, N.C. -- A 2002 rental of the movie "Freddy Got Fingered" has come back to haunt a Concord, North Carolina man.

WSOC-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina reports a police officer stopped James Meyers for a broken tail-light.

But when the officer checked Meyers' license, he found an old warrant charging Meyers with theft of the tape.

The officer let him take his daughter to school as long as he promised to come to the police station.

Meyers told WSOC he thought maybe it was all a joke until he was put in handcuffs and taken to the magistrate's office.

The video store that rented the tape is no longer in business.

Meyers said he vaguely remembers renting the tape, but no longer has it. He said he is hoping to have the charge dismissed.
