Winners of the 2016 ComEd Icebox Derby celebrate victory

Thirty girls in six teams with six recycled refrigerators equal a twist on the old soap box derby race - the ComEd Icebox Derby.

The event, held on Aug. 13 in the east lot of the Field Museum, aimed to get girls interested and engaged in the STEM fields by doing this hands-on challenge.

The experience hopefully encourages them to pursue jobs in the Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

While all the girls are winners, one team came out victorious -Radiant Flames.

Radiant Flames visited the WCL studio to celebrate their victory.
