CPD to get $2.3M from DOJ to cover overtime costs

After seeing some of its most violent months in decades, Chicago is getting federal money to help cover police overtime costs.

The city is getting $2.3 million from the Department of Justice.

Aside from overtime, the money will help officers get upgraded equipment.

Last month, there were 90 homicides in the city - the most in 20 years.
