CHICAGO (WLS) -- Cubs officials said that due to the start of offseason construction, the chalk messages left by fans on the brick walls of Wrigley Field will be removed Tuesday.

Team officials said they were humbled by the memorials and appreciated fans using chalk, "which produces a creative and colorful display that does not damage our historic brick walls, which include bricks dating back to the 1920s."

Officials said the walls will be fully photographed before the artwork is washed off, and said fans can continue to leave messages on the wall until 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Final photographs will be taken before construction begins.
