Hundreds of anti-Donald Trump protesters gathered Saturday in Chicago for the second consecutive weekend since the Nov. 8 presidential election.

They say they're trying to stop the president-elect from making good on some of his campaign promises, changing things such as "Donald Trump, go away, racist, sexist, anti-gay."

"It's important to not allow hate to be normalized," said protester Louis Smith.

The grou began with a noon rally at Federal Plaza in the Loop.

"We're here today and we're going to keep going because there will not be one thing not one piece of legislation one statement from trump that will not be met with resistance," Chanel Jeffries told the crowd.

Organizers told the crowd that it was more important now than ever to defend the rights of minorities, immigrants and women.

"We will do whatever is necessary, by any means necessary, to defend our comrades and our communities and say no to Trump," said Stepanie Fisher.

The group marched up State Street to within a block of Trump Tower, where Wacker and Wabash was shut down so they could rally again.
