2 female robbers target women on Near NW Side
Chicago police are searching for a pair of female robbers targeting other women in Wicker Park and Ukrainian Village.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are searching for a pair of female robbers who use pepper spray to steal the purses of other women on the city's Northwest Side.

Three robberies were reported within hours of each other on Friday, June 26. In each robbery, the offenders asked other females for directions, sprayed them with pepper spray and then stole their purses and cell phones.

The first incident occurred outside Mary Khalilian's Humboldt Park home.

"When I came out, I looked through the window. I saw one of them run this way and the other ran that way," Khalilian said. She called 9-1-1.

The robberies occurred at 5:25 p.m. in the 2400-block of West Cortez Street; at 8:05 p.m. in the 1700-block of West Haddon Avenue; and at 10:50 p.m. in the 2200-block of West Hirsch Street.

The offenders got away in a cream-colored, late model sedan.

One offender is described as an African American woman between 5 ft. 7 in. and 5 ft. 8 in. tall who weighs between 155 and 190 pounds. She has a medium complexion, brown eyes and wore her black hair in a ponytail.

The other offender is Caucasian, between 5 ft. 3 in. and 5 ft. 7 in. tall and weighs between 120 and 130 pounds. She has a fair complexion and wore her blonde hair in a ponytail.
