CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating a woman's report she was sexually assaulted by two men at knifepoint Saturday night during Wicker Park Fest.

Saturday evening the streets of Wicker Park were packed.

"It was very active, everyone was just out enjoying the festival and the activities," said Heather Pedersen, who works in the neighborhood.

But around 7:30 p.m., somewhere along a mural-lined street off North Milwaukee Avenue, police said a man forced a 24-year-old woman near the L tracks. That when and where investigators said two young men sexually assaulted her at knifepoint.

"That baffles me. I don't know how no one could help someone being sexually molested, at knifepoint, that's insane to me," said Lorenzo Hernandez, Wicker Park resident.

"Where the people are coming in and entering Milwaukee Avenue with all the port-a-potties and everything else, that security would not have even noticed," said Alan Katz, owner of Devil Dawgs.

The area, business owners said, was one of the busiest and well-watched.

"How it happened, I couldn't even begin to tell you how it happened," Katz said.

The victim took herself to St. Anthony's Hospital to be checked out and that's where police were called from. Police are now checking surveillance video from surrounding businesses to see if the suspects were caught on camera.

The suspects are described as between 20 and 25 years old; one had dreadlocks and the other had a fade haircut, police said.
