CHICAGO (WLS) -- Three men were rescued after high winds capsized a boat around 8 p.m. near Monroe Harbor.
The fire department said as the storm rolled in, it sent one of its rescue boats out on the lake as a precaution. Minutes later, the crew spotted a 19-foot sailboat on its side.
The three men on board the boat ended up in the water. They were wearing life vests, and the rescue crew plucked them out of the water.
They were checked out at a Coast Guard station and did not need to be taken to the hospital.
The boat was towed back to Monroe Harbor on Tuesday night.
