CHICAGO (WLS) -- The ABC7 I-Team has learned the Department of Justice will send seven more ATF agents to help curb crime in Chicago.

Attorney General Eric Holder recently came to Chicago for a roundtable discussion with Mayor Emanuel about reducing gun violence.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives currently has 45 agents assigned in Chicago.

The Justice Department says the extra agents will use proven strategies to reduce illegal gun trafficking and gun crime.
