Body of missing Arlington Heights father found in forest preserve

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- The body of a 38-year-old Arlington Heights man was found Wednesday afternoon in a forest preserve where a search was conducted for the missing father of two.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the body is Tim Anderson.

Anderson was last seen leaving his home around 4:30 a.m. Monday. Friends said he did not show up for work that day. His car was found abandoned around 7 p.m. on Bateman Road in Barrington Hills.

Anderson's family said he is a methodical man who liked his routine, and that it is out of character for him to go missing. Police said Anderson has no known medical or psychological issues.

"We want him home. My sons are 3 and 6, and they want their dad," said wife Cathrall Anderson.

"I think the family has been remarkable. I can't imagine being in their situation," said Jeff Dickerson, ABC7 sports reporter and Tim Anderson's friend.

Tim Anderson's wife said she became worried when she woke up and noticed he'd left his work bag behind. She called the wife of one of his coworkers.

"One of my really good friend's husbands works at Northern Trust as well, and she let me know he did not show up for work. So I called his parents, and eventually we went to the Arlington Heights police," she said.

"This is completely out of character. I never knew Tim to do anything that would deviate from the happiness and well being of his family," Dickerson said.

His wife said he has no connection to the woods that were being searched, and she doesn't understand why he would've driven his car there. She said she tried emailing and texting her husband all day Monday, but he did not answer. Tim Anderson's cell phone was pinging that location.

Tim Anderson's death was ruled a suicide Thursday.
