Buffalo Grove home invasions linked?
Police believe the man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in her bed has struck before.

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- Police believe one man may be behind two recent attacks and home invasions in north suburban Buffalo Grove.

On Saturday, a woman woke around 4 a.m. to find a man straddling her as she lay in her bed inside her apartment in the 1100-block of Miller Lane. Police said the man fled after a brief struggle.

The victim was not injured in the attempted sexual assault.

Officials said the offender gained entry through an unlocked patio door. He displayed no weapons, made no threats and left nothing behind, according to police.

The offender is described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old with short, brown hair and a receding hairline. He's about 5'9" with an average build.

The same man may be responsible for a similar attack in July in the same building, police said. The July attack had gone unreported, Buffalo Grove Commander Jim Newton said.
