Bullets hit outside of Lee Elementary School in West Lawn

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are investigating after bullets hit the outside of a school in the city's West Lawn neighborhood, police said.

Police received reports of shots fired in the 6400-block of S. Tripp around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday coming from a beige sedan, officials said. Two of the bullets struck the exterior of Lee Elementary School, though no children were at the school and no one was injured, officials said.

Police have not taken anyone into custody.
