Cab driver killed after I-90 crash near Hoffman Estates

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (WLS) -- A cab driver died after a fatal crash on I-90 near Hoffman Estates, officials said.

Police said the driver of the cab was either stopped or backing up in a live westbound lane of the expressway when an oncoming SUV allegedly slammed into the rear of the cab early Sunday morning. The cab was engulfed in flames, killing the driver, officials said.

The driver of the SUV was uninjured. Police are continuing to investigate.
