Chicago Defender honors 50 women of excellence

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Defender honored 50 women of excellence Thursday afternoon at the Chicago Downtown Marriott.

The women came from a broad range of communities from businesses to places of worship and much more.

Windy City Live's Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini served as emcees of the event.
