Fleming Elementary School luring alert cancelled amid 'misunderstanding'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police have cancelled an attempted luring alert at Alexander Fleming Elementary School in the city's Clearing neighborhood, saying the report ended up being a "misunderstanding."

Officials began searching for a man after they received what turned out to be false reports that he had attempted to lure three female students into his SUV in the 4900-block of West 64th Street Thursday afternoon.

Police have not released any other details.
