Neuqua Valley High School freshman Trisha Prabhu's invention has made her one of 15 global finalists in the international Google Science Fair.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- A suburban high school student is fighting cyberbullies with science.

Neuqua Valley High School freshman Trisha Prabhu, 14, surveyed hundreds of students and found that a high percentage of them, when presented with a pop-up message asking whether they really want to post an offensive message, would change their minds and not post the content. Being asked to reconsider is the key feature of a project she's calling, "Rethink: An Effective Way to Prevent Cyberbullying." Her invention has made her one of 15 global finalists in the upcoming international Google Science Fair.
