Drew Peterson's former lawyer claims to have proof of setup
Drew Peterson's former lawyer says two letters sent to him by one of Peterson's fellow inmates are proof that the murder-for-hire plot is a setup.

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. -- Drew Peterson faces charges in a plot to kill Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow, but letters sent to Peterson's former attorney Joel Brodsky claim that two prison snitches were involved in a set up that was concocted by law enforcement.

Brodsky claims letters sent to him by an inmate are proof that Peterson, a former Bolingbrook cop, was set up.

"Once it was determined it was credible, it was pretty clear," Brodsky says. "Peterson has been entrapped into committing an offense he never instigated."

Believing the letters to be true, Brodsky says the murder for hire plot was actually instigated by Glasgow himself. In a lengthy letter, an inmate who is now at Statesville explains how he and another inmate, who befriended Peterson at Menard, contacted Glasgow after the inmate had conversations with Peterson about "taking care" of Glasgow.

"They wrote him a letter saying look this is what is going on and this is what we can do, please come and see us," Brodsky says, "and show us what we can do for you and we obviously want something in exchange."

The letter claims the inmate who befriended Peterson was contacted and interviewed by prosecutors, the Department of Corrections, the FBI and Glasgow. The Statesville inmate tells Brodsky Peterson is caught on tape with an FBI wire worn by the other inmate. The prisoner who wrote Brodsky says the FBI offered him money to keep his mouth shut, but when the deal fell apart the inmate decided to write the letters.

Brodsky says he has sent copies of the letters to Peterson's public defender. Peterson's court-appointed lawyer did not comment on the letters. Neither did Glasgow or the FBI.
