Evanston firefighters test emergency skills in staged drill

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Firefighters in north suburban Evanston put their skills to the test in a staged emergency drill.

While it looked like a disaster, it was actually just practice.

Evanston Fire and Life Safety Services and the Skokie Fire Department set up the wreck.

They are training their crew on how to get victims out of situations such as these.

They practiced extrications, team work and communications.
