JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- The family of a woman killed in a deadly pileup on I-55 is calling for a federal investigation.

Truck driver Francisco Espinal Quiroz allegedly caused the crash. He is blind in one eye, but was given a waiver allowing him to drive.

A lawyer for the family of Ulrike Blopleh calls the waiver "ridiculous." He's sending a letter to Congressman Adam Kinzinger asking that the waiver be investigated.

The truck driver is charged with reckless homicide.
