Lakeview fires investigated; arson suspected in 1

CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least one early morning fire in Lakeview may have been set, Chicago Fire Department detectives said.

CFD crews called to the 800-block of West Roscoe around 4:30 a.m. Sunday found a mattress and garage on fire. No one was injured and no vehicles were damaged, official said, and it is being investigated as arson.

About 20 minutes later, emergency crews were called to a coach house in the 1000-block of West Wellington. The building was fully engulfed by flames, officials said, and detectives determined the fire began in a nearby trash can.

The second fire is still under investigation, officials said.
