VALPARAISO, Ind. (WLS) -- Valparaiso police said a man who drew the attention of a daycare worker Wednesday was another child's family member.

Police were called to Growing Kids Learning Center at 3400 Campbell St. Wednesday after a man standing near the fenced area yelled the names of children who were playing outside. That alarmed daycare workers and a child in the play area, and police were called.

Officials released a photo of the car and social media led them to identify the man as a relative of two of the children who were also playing in the fenced in area at the time of the incident. The man was trying to get their attention when he mistakenly drew that of the daycare worker and another child.

Police said they are confident no criminal intent was involved in the incident.

Police investigated and learned that the man had previously been sitting in the parking lot across the street at Cooks Corner School.
