CHICAGO (WLS) -- Michael A. Taylor, of Chicago, has been charged in connection with armed robberies that occurred on a CTA Orange Line train last week, police said.

Taylor, 20, was arrested in Rockford around 10:15 p.m. Friday and also charged in connection with May shooting in the 5700-block of West Ohio Street, officials said. He was identified as the offender who allegedly aimed and fired a gun in the direction of three females and a male who he was arguing with, police said. No one was injured in the incident.

Police released surveillance images last week of alleged suspects connected with the armed robberies, which occurred during the evening rush hour on an inbound Orange Line train near the Roosevelt station on July 17. Two armed men allegedly entered the car, demanding valuables from customers before fleeing at the Roosevelt station, officials said.

Taylor faces four felony counts of armed robbery and two felony counts of aggravated assault and is scheduled to appear in bond court Sunday.
