CHICAGO (WLS) -- There were major delays on the Red and Purple Line Monday evening after a man was fatally struck by a Red Line train.

A northbound CTA train struck and killed a 56-year-old man near the Loyola stop around 7:45 p.m., authorities said.

CTA trains on the Red and Purple Lines were moving with delays as of 10 p.m. Monday night.

The man has not been identified. His death is still under investigation.
