Man tries to lure elementary student into car in North Center

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man tried to lure a girl into a vehicle as she walked home from Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School on Chicago's North Side.

Police said the girl was walking in the 2300-block of Grace Street in the city's North Center neighborhood around 7:45 p.m. on June 8, when she saw a silver sedan move toward her from the 7-Eleven at Grace and Western Avenue.

She told police a "pudgy" man who looked to be about 20 years old called out to her from inside the car and said, "Hey, come here."

The girl said she was scared, so she ran back to her school and told a staff member what happened.

Police said the vehicle was seen circling the school before it drove away.
