WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- A prayer vigil was held Thursday night for a woman fighting a jury's verdict that she killed a 16-month-old boy.

Paul Calusinski organized the vigil outside of the Lake County Courthouse for his daughter Melissa.

A jury convicted her of throwing the child on the ground and causing a skull fracture, but the Lake County coroner ruled this past summer he suffered from a pre-existing condition.

Another court hearing is set for Friday.
