CHICAGO (WLS) -- A special task force considering raising the minimum wage in the city of Chicago to $15 an hour is expected to hold its first public hearing at Kennedy-King College Monday night.
The Minimum Wage Working Group is expected to give Mayor Rahm Emanuel a report next month.
The public hearing at Kennedy-King College will last two hours, from 7-9 p.m. Monday.
The mayor's office said there are four other public hearings scheduled:
Thursday, June 12 at Malcolm X College (1900 West Van Buren Street) from 7-9 p.m.
Thursday, June 19 at Truman College (1145 West Wilson Avenue) from 7-9 p.m.
Tuesday, June 24 at Arturo Velazquez Institute (2800 South Western Avenue) from 7-9 p.m.
Thursday, June 26 at Roberto Clemente Community Academy (1147 North Western Avenue) from 7-9 p.m.
