Officer accused of having sex in patrol car

HOUSTON -- A deputy is off the job and under a criminal investigation amid allegations he had sex in a squad car.

"What kind of example does that set for the kids?" That's what Harris County resident Chris Scott asked after he heard about the allegations against a former Precinct 5 Constable K-9 deputy.

The deputy found himself on the other side of the law after the Harris County Sheriff's Office launched a criminal investigation, which involves the sex crimes unit.

Investigators say a woman came forward claiming that the deputy "used his position to take advantage of her."

Detectives say the woman also claims the deputy "acted inappropriately in a sexual manner with her during normal police actions."

Sources close to the investigation told ABC-13's Chauncy Glover Wednesday night that the deputy in question is accused of having sex with a woman inside his cruiser, while on the clock.

"On my tax dollars dollars? That's some BS. They need to be out there policing and doing their job," added Scott.

Precinct 5 Constable's Office couldn't comment on the investigation by the sheriff's department, but did confirm this same deputy was terminated last week for dishonesty and misconduct. The chief says the officer falsified entries on daily work cards and calls.

As far as the criminal investigation, detectives spent the day looking at the former deputy's activity and daily routine. They're reviewing calls and traffic stops, trying to find out who the deputy was pulling over. Sources say there's fear other victims may be out there.

"Thinking that a man -- but not just men in general, the police officers -- can take advantage of a woman just because, oh I can get you out of this ticket or I can get you out of the situation if you do a little something for me, is awful. That's like degrading to women honestly in my opinion," said Rachel Kohler.

Precinct 5 officials have asked the courts to dismiss every single citation written by the deputy.

Eyewitness News is not releasing the officers name because no charges have been filed, and these are only allegations. We went by the officer's home to get his side of the story, but no one was home.
