Susan Krueger, 68, fatally struck by vehicle in Wood Dale

WOOD DALE, Ill. (WLS) -- Wood Dale police said a 68-year-old woman who may have been trying to cross Route 83 was struck and killed by a vehicle in the northwest suburb.

Susan Krueger, of the 500-block of Pine Tree Lane in Wood Dale, was hit in the southbound lanes of Route 83 near Royal Oaks Drive just before 7:30 p.m. Monday. Police said that section of the road has no crosswalk or traffic signal. Krueger died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating in the ongoing investigation.
