Police involved shooting on West Side
Police were involved in a shooting Sunday night near Augusta and Cicero on the city's West Side, police said.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot Sunday night by police responding to a call about a gas station robbery on the city's West Side, police said.

At about 9 p.m., police were called to the 1000-block of North Cicero Avenue. When officers arrived, they encountered an armed male offender, police said.

The man was shot in the leg and taken to Stroger Hospital. No officers sustained injuries.

Neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots.

The officer or officers involved will be placed on routine administrative duties for 30 days, police said Sunday night.
