PHOTOS: NW Indiana drug sweep yields 30 arrest warrants

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- Authorities have issued 30 arrest warrants for individuals involved in major heroin and cocaine distribution rings in Northwest Indiana.

According to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office, the individuals seen above have been served with arrest warrants or are currently being sought by law enforcement.

Authorities said the charges involve the possession and sale of a multitude of illicit drugs, including heroin, which has caused an epidemic of overdoses and deaths throughout Lake County and the nation.

The warrants are the result of a year-end drug sweep that involved long-term investigatory efforts carried out by the Lake County Drug Task Force and their law enforcement partners throughout the last year, authorities said.
