NEWTON -- Police in New Jersey are searching for a father who allegedly kidnapped his two children.

The Sussex County Prosecutor's Office released new details in the search for 8-year-old Parker Kristopher Dohm and 7-year-old Jaxon Baily Dohm, with the child's mother and an investigator speaking about the case.

"Parker and Jaxon, I want you to know know that I love you and that I miss you and I'll never ever stop looking for you no matter what," mom Sandra Hughes Dohm said.

Though the divorcing couple had joint custody of the boys, Kristopher failed to return them after a scheduled visit the first week of February. Arrest warrants have been issued for Kristopher Dohm, who police say abducted the boys and left the state on February 6.

On February 11, a state arrest warrant was issued for interference with custody. A federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was then issued on February 20.

Authorities say Kristopher Dohm may have taken steps to alter his appearance and those of his sons, and all three may have shaved heads.

Parker has asthma and Kristopher is believed to be diabetic. The children may be in need of medical attention.

"We believe, based on recent information regarding their father's medical condition, being insulin dependent, that he may not be making great decisions," police chief Thomas McCormick said. "We believe that their safety could be at risk."

Jaxon has brown hair and blue eyes and is 4-foot-1 and 60 pounds. He has a birthmark or mole on his chin.

Parker also brown hair and hazel eyes, stands 4-foot-5 and weighs 60 pounds. He may be wearing transitional eye glasses.

"No matter what your dad is telling you, you need to know that we are looking for you and we want you to come back home to us," Sandra Hughes Dohm said.

Kristopher has brown hair and brown eyes and is approximately 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds. He has tattoos on his right arm and left leg.

They may be traveling in a 2009 gray Nissan Pathfinder.

Police say Kristopher Dohm has changed the license plates on his vehicle multiple times, using the following New Jersey license plate characters: K15DXS, ZKL24F, and S17CKV.

The suspect vehicle was last seen in the early morning hours of February 6 on Interstate 95 southbound in Baltimore, Maryland.
