Police cars collide during chase in Little Village; 4 hospitalized

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Four police officers are hospitalized after a crash that occurred during a car chase in the city's Little Village neighborhood, police said.

Police responded to reports of a stolen vehicle around 3:35 a.m. Sunday as part of a chase that began at Ogden and Homan, officials said. Two squad cars then collided with each other during the pursuit near 26th and California, sending four officers to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The alleged offenders in the chase then struck another squad car in the 3100-block of South California, police said. No injuries were reported from that crash.

Two people have been taken into custody and charges are pending as crews work to clear the scene.
